Put on the Playlist: Lykke Li

5/7 UPDATE – RCRD LBL has a new Lykke remix up for free (h/t gorilla vs bear)

Its been a while since I’ve done a Put on the Playlist, but this is quite fitting as her first album Youth Novels is being released in the US today on May 6th.

Lykke Li is a Swedish singer who first started tearing up the music blogs back in the second half of last year with songs like Little Bit and Tonight – in October Stereogum listed her as an artist to watch. I’ve seen her described as powdered-sugar pop; I’m not sure what that is or what it means but I like it.

Lykke’s voice is cute, but she’s got some powerful dance moves accompany it. Her tunes are immediately catchy and based on her videos I’m guessing she’s pretty money live.
